COLLEEN MOIDU

Colleen Moidu is a horror author and illustrator fascinated by the unsettling things lurking beneath ordinary lives. Her stories explore grief, identity, motherhood, and the messy business of being human, often with a healthy dose of dark humor. She's particularly drawn to the places where love and fear collide, where the familiar becomes strange, and where people discover they may not know themselves quite as well as they thought.

After earning a degree in Management Information Systems from Case Western Reserve University, Colleen went on to spend more than twenty years working in the nonprofit sector, confronting injustice and advocating for underrepresented voices. Along the way, she developed a healthy skepticism of systems that promise to have all the answers. That skepticism frequently finds its way into her fiction, along with a fascination with the things we can't explain and the lengths we'll go to protect the people we love.

A Columbus, Ohio native, she now lives in her hometown with her husband, three children, her mother, and a small menagerie of pets. When she's not writing, she's often illustrating the characters and worlds that inhabit her imagination or finding inspiration for horror in the most ordinary places, including her own suburban neighborhood.
